The OtterCares Foundation was established in November of 2010 by Nancy Richardson. Nancy and husband Curt are the founders of Blue Ocean Enterprises, Blue Ocean Holdings and Otter Products. Most familiar amongst their companies is Otter Products - a global company which manufactures protective cases for mobile technology devices and includes the brands OtterBox and LifeProof. The OtterCares Foundation serves as the charitable arm for Otter Products.

Gary is a native of Colorado and brought a unique blend of nonprofit and for-profit experience to the OtterCares Foundation in January of 2013.  Prior to joining the OtterCares Foundation, Gary learned the finer points of nonprofit management by working for large national nonprofit organizations in Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado.  His experience in for-profit organizations includes developing a successful real estate practice in Northern Colorado and creating a productivity coaching practice to help others reach their potential.

The OtterCares Foundation believes that one young and inspired mind can change the world! The foundation’s mission is to champion innovative education that inspires students to become entrepreneurs and philanthropists. Our work includes grant funding, curriculum development, engaging Otter employees in philanthropy, and partnering with educators to help students turn their ideas in to something real and tangible.

Gary is passionate about helping others reach their full potential and is especially driven to help kids learn “I can” instead of “I can’t”.

During his free time, Gary enjoys spending time with his family, experiencing all that is Colorado, riding ATV’s, watching good baseball and sharing really bad jokes.
